Two Models, Neither Built for Citizens.
Big tech companies from the United States and China dominate the sector and are racing towards monopoly. Concentrated in so few hands, AI becomes a threat to democracy: personal data harvested, public opinion manipulated, disinformation at scale.
We cannot leave this to authoritarian governments or to a handful of corporations. Europe must make sure AI serves the common good, by promoting the public, open development of AI models under democratic control.

Information about the European Union, accessible to everyone and powered by open-source software that anyone can use, study and improve. Transparent, fair and available to all - the way democracy is supposed to be.
